Who founded the Yo! China ® restaurant chain? When and where did the first restaurant open?
Yo! China was founded by 6 dynamic entrepreneurs – Ashish Kapur, Ajay Saini, Joydeep Singh, Sampat Talwar, Arun Chadha and Mandhir Soni. The first restaurant started in May 2003 in the MGF Mall in Gurgaon.
Does Yo! China serve only Chinese food?
Yo! China is a Chinese food chain. We specialize in authentic dishes like Dimsum as well as popular dishes like Chicken Hot Garlic Sauce, American Chopsuey.
What services does a Yo! China restaurant offer?
All restaurants offer the following services: Dine-In, Takeaway & Home Delivery. The restaurants also organize Birthday & Kitty parties as well as parties for large gatherings.
What are the various formats Yo! China operates within?
Yo! China has 3 models : Dine In Restaurants, Yo! Express – Home Delivery and Yo! Dimsum Carts. Ideally for Dine-In models the restaurant should be 1700sqft carpet area on a single floor plate. However, we do have multiple floor restaurants. Our current restaurants are located in Malls as well as High Streets. The main criteria being location, location & location. The location must be in a high footfall area preferably close to other restaurants & a multiplex.
The Home Delivery model requires approx 800sqft of space. This is a self service model. The Yo! Dimsum carts require approx 50 sqft of space. This is a takeaway model.

Do Yo! China restaurants accept credit cards?
Yes, all Yo! China Dine In Outlets accept credit cards. Only the food court outlets do not accept credit cards.
How fresh is the food served in Yo! China?
Serving food piping hot made out of the freshest of ingredients is our top priority. All our outlets receive fresh vegetables and chicken/meat/fish daily. The vendors are certified for the quality and safety of supplies. The chefs are trained to receive fresh supplies. The kitchen mantra is ‘from the wok to the table'. No dish is reheated – it is simply cooked fresh!
When did the first Yo! China franchise unit open and where is it located?
The first franchise outlet opened in Pune in the Mariplex Mall - Kalyani Nagar in April 2005. It is a 100 seat restaurant within a hip mall. Since then we have franchise outlets running in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Pune, Chandigarh, Patna, Jammu, Vashi.

What support does Yo! China offer its franchisees?
Setup: At the time of setup we help in the most important factor – location finalization & lease negotiations. Post this we help in the outlet design, equipment sourcing, staff hiring & training, vendor selection, launch planning
Operations : Once outlet operations have commenced we setup the supply chain network, supply standardized items to ensure consistency, help in retraining staff, conduct audits and grade outlet performance, design new marketing promotions, create new dishes. We ensure transfer of management expertise to the franchise partner to ensure smooth outlet operations. We also provide regular hand-holding & trouble shooting
Who is Yo! China's Target Market?
Yo! China's target market is the Youth. We cater to two kinds of consumers - The value conscious consumer who wants to have an affordable meal and the convenience seeker who wants to have a quick meal or food delivered at his home/office. The target group largely comprises of the student community, young working professionals and families.

The overall market is fragmented with the vast majority of restaurants in India being single owner operated. In the organized retail environment we are a major restaurant chain. Within the organized Chinese food segment we would be the undisputed market leader.
What steps does the Yo! China chain take to ensure food safety in its restaurants?
We take the following steps to ensure food safety – a critical element of guest satisfaction for us:
• All outlets operate with government licences and in authorized premises
• We use commercial gas situated outside the restaurant premises
• All vendors are pre certified and the chain does random audits to ensure freshness and safety of raw ingredients
• Kitchen staff is trained and measured on hygiene and food handling
• Kitchen staff is medically tested on a regular basis
• The uniform policy mandates caps for all people entering the kitchen premises
• The vegetarian and non vegetarian sections are clearly defined
• All packaging material specially in home delivery and takeaway is food grade Apart from this we are working on industry certifications like HACCP.
How is Yo! China Kids friendly?
All Yo! China outlets are non smoking zones. All outlets with the exception of Chandigarh (which serves only Beer) do not serve liquor. We organize B'day parties with games and gifts which are very popular among the kids community. Apart from this our bright yellow and red interiors are very cheerful
Does Yo! China offer Home/Office Delivery?
Yes, all Yo! China outlets offer a Home/Office Delivery service. The menu variety is large and food is cooked fresh and delivered at the required premises

What is Yo! China's most branded dish and what is the reason for its success?
Our most popular item is dumplings. We have sold over 10 million of these. Our dumpling variety is large and each dumpling is juicy, fresh & has a different but sumptuous filling.
